over the summer, i got an old purple chandler guitar body. this one, here:
anyway, i stripped it down and decided that i was going to take a stab at doing a graphic finish on a guitar. as dated as it may be, i've always been a fan of patrick nagel's work; i love the clean lines, and i liked the look, overall. so i sketched this picture, as you'll remember.
anyway, i've got a few options for the final finish that i thought i'd share. here ya go:
they're posted in the order that i like the best. i don't think that i'm going to do the last one, but i thought i'd post it anyway. i probably won't get started on it for awhile, but i like that i at least have an idea of how i want to make the rest of it look.
i started on a refret today; the blue warlock that i restored in 06 needed a refret in the worst way. i'm about half of the way through it, and i hope to have it done tomorrow. not sure if it will happen, as i have a fair amount of sitework to crank out tomorrow as well. either way, good times.
